Directions - Sherlock Adaptation - review of shoot. day one

DAY ONE
what went wrong-
The major issue was the start time, due to unfortunate, and unavoidable circumstances, my two lead actors didn't arrive on set, on time. this put us back by approximately two hours, our schedule for the day was as below, their late arrival pushed us back by about two hours, however we still had to end at the same sort of time, our final end time was 00:30, we managed to get approximately half the script shot in that period. this has put us significantly behind schedule.
My crew issues also went wrong, my primary crew member had to Re-shoot the vast majority of her film, unfortunately this occurred the same day as my shoot, and unfortunately I hadn't been able to find someone free enough on the shoot night to help. luckily I managed to get someone to Boom for me in the end, a student on another course, who thankfully knew what they were doing.

19:00 crew meal and final script read through
20:00 final rehearsal(includes screen directions)
20:15 shoot start.
22:00 Break
23:00 END
00:00 Overrun time final end

what went right-
the acting was fantastic, both my actors got into character properly and performed well, and succinctly. and, thankfully they have been kind enough to act again tomorrow, something that hadn't been in our original agreement, so for that I am very grateful. again, their acting exceeded my expectations and I'm rather pleased with what we have.
fixing-
some of my issues have been fixed by the generosity of others, I think my cast's lateness was unavoidable, and they did explain why upon arrival, and notified me at the original shoot start time. cast being late for various reasons must be expected.
my crew issues could probably been dealt with better, however the underlying reason behind my crew issues is being dealt with, and I have talked to Simon about it.I had hoped I could salvage my situation better than I have, however this issue is in the process of being dealt with as its underlying cause is being dealt with. other than that, perhaps better planning and networking will help.
